About the event
The Child Sexual Abuse Course (CSAC) is a comprehensive investigative training designed for law enforcement, prosecutors, and multidisciplinary professionals responsible for investigating allegations of child sexual abuse. The course examines the investigation from initial report through case presentation, with emphasis on trauma-informed, victim-centered, offender-focused, and corroboration-based investigative practices. Participants learn to evaluate disclosures without presuming either guilt or innocence, recognize offender behaviors and grooming dynamics, understand child development and trauma, assess forensic interviews, identify and preserve physical, digital, documentary, and behavioral evidence, reconstruct timelines, develop corroboration, conduct suspect interviews, and build stronger cases for prosecution. CSAC emphasizes disciplined investigative decision-making that strengthens legitimate cases while reducing the risk of confirmation bias, investigative error, and wrongful accusation.
