NCACIA CSAC Course Description

The Child Sexual Abuse Course (CSAC) is NCACIA’s advanced training program designed to equip investigators, forensic interviewers, prosecutors, child-protective professionals, and allied multidisciplinary partners with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond effectively to allegations of child sexual abuse. CSAC integrates behavioral science, trauma-informed practice, multidisciplinary frameworks, and advanced forensic analysis into a unified, field-ready training model.

The course begins with a detailed examination of sexual abuse dynamics within families and caregiving systems, exploring secrecy, coercion, dependency, grooming patterns, and the relational asymmetries exploited by offenders. Participants learn how caregiver relationships, household power structures, and access opportunities shape offender behavior, victim responses, and the trajectory of disclosure.
