NCACIA SISVO Course Description
Strategic Interviewing of Sexual and Violent Offenders (SISVO) is an advanced, investigator-focused training program designed to strengthen the forensic interviewing and analytical capabilities of professionals working with high-risk sexual, violent, and exploitative offenders. This course integrates behavioral science, cognitive-interviewing principles, and cutting-edge statement-analysis methodologies into a unified, field-tested framework.
At the core of SISVO is the Integrated Cognitive Behavioral Interview (ICBI) method—NCACIA’s structured approach that merges cognitive-load strategies, offender-specific behavioral profiling, and rapport-based elicitation techniques to maximize information accuracy while minimizing contamination. Participants learn how to adapt ICBI phases to offender typologies, situational dynamics, and evolving investigative priorities.
SISVO also provides a comprehensive overview of modern investigative interviewing tactics, including linguistic and psycholexical analysis, micro-narrative segmentation, emotional sequencing, and offender-specific motivational mapping. Two NCACIA tools are emphasized throughout:
